Service Description

Weekly Coaching

Goal

Through the use of the EC’s Reach More Evangelization Coaching System and regular EC staff check-ins, the EC will equip the Ministry leadership to form active Catholics into intentional, highly apostolic disciples; and train them to draw members of the Ministry and eventually, non-Church-attending individuals into the life of Christ in the Church, so that the Ministry becomes a vibrant center of apostolic formation for the laity.

Objectives of the Reach More Evangelization Coaching System

Inspire Ministry staff and members of the Ministry with love for Jesus and an evangelical desire to reach out within the Ministry and eventually outside of the Ministry through compelling witness, loving conversation, and sacrificial service.

Train Ministry staff and Ministry leaders to:

  • design a comprehensive plan for evangelization
  • learn effective multiplication of small groups through invitation and promotion of small groups and one-on-one apprenticeship relationships
  • facilitate small groups and one-on-one apprenticeship meetings that draw members of the Ministry deeper into the life of Christ and community
  • facilitate training sessions, using Reach More, that fluently present evangelization content so that they are able to inspire and form their Ministry members with great effectiveness

Support Ministry through:

  • unlimited access to the Reach More Evangelization Coaching System
  • regular phone or web conferences with staff

Implementation

Reach More focuses on small group ministry and one-on-one discipleship apprenticing because these provide “the good soil” for formation by a method that will ultimately extend to wider outreach.   They are the methods Jesus used, as well as the saints, and all the movements and institutions in the Church that are growing.  This method is the patrimony of the Church, as well as the most natural and flexible means of evangelization for the lay faithful.  When intentionally executed through training of leaders and implementation of advertising and publicity when appropriate, and then supported with the EC’s materials and ongoing coaching resources, small groups and one-one-ones serve as the foundation for spiritual renewal in a Ministry and eventually in the Ministry’s community.

The EC’s methods for sign-up and invitation that integrates members of the Ministry into small groups will continue to add to the numbers participating in these groups.  We will work with Ministry staff to help them use Reach More to (a) discern and select members of the Ministry who are already highly committed to Jesus and the Church to form a training group, (b) train this group and equip them as small group facilitators, (c) construct a strategic plan for invitation (and/or sign-ups if deemed appropriate) during the weeks preceding Lent, and (d) strategically place the majority of groups in facilitators’ or Ministry members’ homes.

Plan for Execution
